CMS updates OPPS
On February 26, CMS issued the April 2010 update to the OPPS. The update includes changes to editing for blood and blood products and a clarification on coding requirements for pulmonary rehab services.
Effective date: April 1, 2010
Implementation date: April 5, 2010
CMS updates quarterly ASP drug pricing files
On February 19, CMS issued a transmittal to inform contractors of the July 2010 update to the average sales price (ASP) Part B drug pricing files.
Effective date: July 1, 2010
Implementation date: July 6, 2010
CMS implements NCD for HIV screening
On February 19, CMS issued transmittals to the National Coverage Determinations Manual and the Claims Processing Manual, to implement coverage of certain screening tests for HIV infection.
Effective date: December 8, 2009
Implementation date: July 6, 2010

CMS replaces transmittals
CMS rescinded several previous transmittals and replaced them with the following:
- Billing for Services Related to Voluntary Uses of Advanced Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage (ABNs) [R1921CP]
- Outpatient Intravenous Insulin Treatment (Therapy) [R114NCD]
- Outpatient Intravenous Insulin Treatment (Therapy) [R1923CP]
