RACs update approved audit issues
CGI Federal and Connolly Healthcare, the RACs for regions B and C, continue to update their lists of CMS-approved audit issues.
OIG reviews RAC fraud referrals
On February 19, the OIG issued a report to determine the extent to which contractors participating in the RAC demonstration program referred cases of potential fraud to CMS. The OIG also examined whether CMS provided training to the RACs regarding fraud identification and referral during the demonstration project and in the permanent program. Between 2005 and 2008, the RACs referred only two cases of potential fraud to CMS.
CMS posts OIVIT NCD
CMS has released its recent NCD for outpatient intravenous insulin therapy (OIVIT).
