OIG issues two oxaliplatin reviews
On February 5, the OIG issued a report on oxaliplatin billing for Seattle based Swedish Medical Center – Cherry Hill. The OIG determined that in 2005 the hospital incorrectly billed Medicare for three oxaliplatin claims resulting in overpayments of $80,169.
On February 19, the OIG issued a report on oxaliplatin billing for John Peter Smith Hospital located in Fort Worth, TX. The OIG determined that in 2005 the acute care hospital billed 10 times the number of units that was actually administered on 36 outpatient claims resulting in overpayments totaling $981,832.
OIG reports on Missouri’s claims with FMAP
On February 4, the OIG issued an advance copy of a final report on Missouri’s $273 million in claims associated with the increased Federal medical assistance percentage (FMAP) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, P.L. No. 111-5.
