The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the expansion of the Medicare Fraud Strike Force (MFSF) operations to three U.S. cities; Brooklyn, Tampa, FL, and Baton Rouge, LA.
The MFSF is a joint venture between the Department of Justice and HHS consisting of multiple agencies of federal, state, and local investigators to battle Medicare fraud. A federal prosecutor leads each MFSF team from his or her respective U.S. Attorney’s Office, in cooperation with agents from the FBI and the Office of Inspector General.
The three new MFSF teams join the preexisting teams located in Miami, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Houston.
