CMS clarifies deactivation instructions
On November 27, CMS issued a transmittal in which it reminded contractors not to issue appeal rights to providers and suppliers when deactivating their Medicare billing privileges, as there is no legal basis for granting such rights.
Effective date: December 28, 2009
Implementation date: December 28, 2009
