CMS notifies of I/OCE rewrite
On November 20, CMS issued a transmittal to notify users of the intended rewrite of the integrated outpatient code editor (I/OCE) PC software to the Java programming language with InstallAnywhere for installation software. This rewrite will not affect the content of the I/OCE.
Effective date: April 1, 2010
Implementation date: April 5, 2010
CMS posts new waived tests
On November 20, CMS issued a transmittal in which it informed contractors of new waived tests approved by the Food and Drug Administration under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988, or CLIA.
Effective date: January 1, 2010
Implementation date: January 4, 2010
CMS instructs on quarterly NCCI update
On November 20, CMS issued a transmittal to implement the January 2010 update to the NCCI edits.
Effective date: January 1, 2010
Implementation date: January 4, 2010
