CMS updates PRM with 2010 swing-bed SNF rates
On November 6th, CMS published an update to the Provider Reimbursement Manual (PRM) with Medicare swing-bed rates for SNF services in swing-beds for 2010.
Effective date: For services furnished on or after January 1, 2010
CMS instructs contractors on ambulance services and SNF stays
On November 6, CMS issued a transmittal instructing its contractors to deny any claims for Part B ambulance services when such services should be paid under the SNF consolidated billing rules.
Effective date: April 1, 2010
Implementation date: April 5, 2010
CMS announces FQHC/RHC payment increases
On November 6, CMS issued a recurring update notification to announce the calendar year 2010 payment increased for federally qualified health centers and rural health clinics.
Effective date: January 1, 2010
Implementation date: January 4, 2010
CMS implements edit for DSMT and MNT
On November 6, CMS issued a transmittal to implement a new duplicate crossover claim edit in the common working file related to diabetes self-management training (DSMT) and medical nutrition therapy (MNT). The edit will prevent DSMT and MNT services from being paid on the same date of service for the same beneficiary.
Effective date: April 1, 2010
Implementation date: April 5, 2010
CMS issues quarterly update for lab NCD edit software
On November 6, CMS issued a transmittal to update the lab NCD edit software for its upcoming January release.
Effective date: January 1, 2010
Implementation date: January 4, 2010
