WV physician seeks new fraud trial

John Sharp M.D., of Marlington, WV, will appear before U.S. District Judge Irene Keeley to request a new trail, according to a May 28 Associated Press article.
In June 2008, Sharp was convicted on 29 counts of healthcare fraud for billing Medicare, Medicaid, and West Virginia workers’ compensation for services he never provided. Sharp will cite prosecutorial misconduct and ineffective council to get a new trial, according to the Associated Press.
