Clinic owner received over $1M for fraudulent hyperbaric chamber services

On April 7, Chaunsay Beckwith, owner and operator of International Alternative Medicine Inc., pleaded guilty to healthcare fraud, according to a Department of Justice (DOJ) release.
According to the DOJ, Beckwith, who does not hold any type of medical license, submitted more than $1.5 million worth of claims to Medicare and private insurance companies for hyperbaric chamber treatments. Those claims contained false diagnosis codes that allowed Beckwith to fraudulently receive approximately $1 million in reimbursement.
