Eat better, go to the gym more often, and take up a hobby; these are all fine New Year’s resolutions.
But industry experts say your organization’s annual resolution should be to get on top of data encryption once and for all.
That means not just talking about it, but actually taking the steps to assess your needs and pull the trigger on a product that will protect your patients’ PHI and keep your name in good standing, out of newspaper headlines for a security breach, and, ultimately, out of court.
Do your due diligence. Assemble a committee within your organization to determine where you are vulnerable and what products can help.
