On January 22, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) released its biennial list of programs determined to be high risk for fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement. The list includes Medicare and Medicaid.
According to the GAO press release, the list is updated every two years and released at the start of each new Congress to help in setting oversight agendas. Recent Congresses have used the list’s findings to help tailor solutions and broader initiatives across government.
