Texas sleep clinic settles false claims suit

HMS Diagnostics Inc., an independent diagnostic testing facility specializing in the treatment of sleep disorders, paid more than $550,000 to settle allegations it violated the federal False Claims Act, according to a Department of Justice press release.
 
The government alleged the HMS billed for Medicare reimbursement for polysomnograph sleep tests administered by uncertified technicians.
