New Jersey Assemblyman Paul Moriarty proposed a bill that would prohibit hospitals from charging for preventable errors known as never events, according to an Associated Press (AP) article.
Hospitals would be forced to pay for any treatments related to the 12 preventable conditions specified in the bill, if it becomes law.
The bill will be heard by the assembly’s health committee before a vote is taken.
