ACR spills secrets to accreditation and missteps to avoid

Not everyone is computer-savvy. When it comes to digital mammography accreditation, you need to work with someone who understands the ins and outs of the equipment—namely your medical physicist. Digital mammography has been around for long enough that most physicists should be up on the technology, says Marion Boston, manager of breast imaging accreditation programs at ACR in Reston, VA. Too many facilities do not take advantage of the physicist’s expertise. Without that expertise, the facility could run into problems when it comes time for accreditation.
