CMS revises National Coverage Determinations (NCD) for heart transplants and artificial hearts and related devices
On September 26, CMS issued two revised NCDs, one for heart transplants and one for artificial hearts and related devices, in which it corrected the implementation date for coverage of artificial hearts under certain circumstances. All other material remains the same.

CMS announces deductible and coinsurance amounts for calendar year (CY) 2009
On September 19, CMS published a fact sheet announcing the Part A deductible and coinsurance amounts and the Part B deductible amount for CY 2009.
