In August, the New York state Medicaid office notified New York facilities that it will not pay for enhanced reimbursements for diagnostic digital mammography codes. A notice announcing the change stated that the agency would price codes the same as codes 77055 and 77056 (film) because there is no evidence that any specific subgroup benefits from having a diagnostic digital mammogram.
