Stress is a fact of life for many mammography technologists. The amount of stress may be on the upswing at many facilities these days. Changing from analog to digital mammography brings a host of new stressors for technologists.
“Living in the digital world means you have a lot more patients and you have to be able to work fast,” says Edna Marr, RT(R)(M), an applications specialist at Hologic, Inc., and a consultant in Portland, OR. The shift to new technology is also a big change and can bring additional pressures.
