CMS updates National Coverage Determinations manual section on continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)
On July 3, CMS issued a transmittal revising the Medicare National Coverage Determinations manual to expand coverage for CPAP therapy for OSA to include a positive diagnosis of OSA made using a home sleep test under specified criteria.
Effective date: March 13, 2008
Implementation date: August 4, 2008

CMS updates Long Term Care Hospital (LTCH) Prospective Payment System (PPS) for 2009
On July 3, CMS issued a transmittal updating the LTCH PPS for the 2009 rate year.
Effective date: July 1, 2008
Implementation date: July 7, 2008
