The Consortium to Combat Medical Fraud (CCMF) is the newest coalition made up of private insurers and public investigators. The team hopes to pool their resources to better combat the medical fraud problem in the United Sates.
The Consortium is made up of representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and three private organizations, the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud, the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association and the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
In a press release posted on the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association’s Web site the consortium hopes to set a national agenda for combating fraud by:
- Sharing information across the industry and among stakeholders
- Leveraging industry best practices
- Influencing the public policy debate and shaping the future agenda
- Optimizing and aligning objectives of various associations
