Healthcare Auditing Weekly, June 24, 2008

Use these nine questions to evaluate your next audit:
  1. What were the strengths and weaknesses during each phase of the audit?
  2. What additional steps could have improved the efficiency of the audit?
  3. Was the number of assigned staff sufficient?
  4. Was the staff adequately trained to complete their assignments? What additional training is needed?
  5. Was auditee cooperation adequate?
  6. What areas should be emphasized or deemphasized in future work?
  7. What audit polices can be improved?
  8. Were there any audit leads that were identified during the audit process that should be followed up on in a future audit?
  9. Is there a need for immediate follow-up?
