CMS issues version 14.2 of the national correct coding initiative (NCCI) edits
On May 23, CMS issued a transmittal announcing the release of version 14.2 of the NCCI edits.
Effective date: July 1, 2008
Implementation date: July 7, 2008 (Note: New versions of NCCI are implemented for hospitals one quarter behind the general implementation date.)

CMS releases update to average sales price (ASP) drug pricing and payment methodology
On May 23, CMS issued a transmittal updating the ASP drug pricing and payment methodology. The transmittal also addresses numerous policy issues relating to CMS's payment methodology for drugs covered under Part B.
