Interim final rule imposing a three-year moratorium on establishment of new long-term care hospitals (LTCH) and on increases in beds in existing LTCHs published in Federal Register
On May 22, an interim final rule imposing a three-year moratorium on the establishment of new LTCHs and on increases in beds in existing LTCHs and LTCH satellite facilities was published in the Federal Register. The interim final rule also implements a three-year delay in the application of certain payment policies for LTCHs and LTCH satellites.

Provider Reimbursement Determinations and Appeals final rule published in Federal Register
On May 23, a Provider Reimbursement Determinations and Appeals final rule was published in the Federal Register. The final rule updates, clarifies, and revises various provisions of the regulations governing provider reimbursement determination, appeals before the Provider Reimbursement Review Board, appeals before the intermediaries, and administrator review of decisions made by the Board.
