Interim final rule for three-year delay in application of payment adjustments for short stay outliers, rate changes for Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospitals published in the Federal Register
On May 6, an interim final rule proposing a three-year delay in application of payment adjustments for short stay outliers and changes to the standard federal rate for LTAC hospitals was published in the Federal Register.

Rate Year 2009 (RY 2009) Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities Prospective Payment System (IPFPPS) payment update notice published in the Federal Register
On May 7, the RY 2009 IPFPPS payment update notice was published in the Federal Register. The changes are applicable to IPF discharges occurring during the rate year beginning July 1, 2008, through June 30, 2009.

Rate Year 2009 (RY 2009) Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) final rule published in the Federal Register
On May 9, the RY 2009 LTAC final rule was published in the Federal Register. The provisions in the final rule are effective on July 8.
