As part of its compliance program, a hospital should provide training on government regulations and policies of private payors. The hospital should retain adequate records on employee training, including attendance logs and material distributed during training sessions.

Hospitals should use a variety of teaching methods, including interactive training and classes in different languages when appropriate. Training should cover corporate ethics, which emphasize the organization’s commitment to compliance. The organization should also communicate its standards and procedures by disseminating publications that explain specific requirements.
