OIG issues report on long term care hospital (LTCH) short-stay outliers
On April 4, the OIG issued a report on LTCH short-stay outliers. The report determined that from fiscal years 2003 through 2006, short-stay outliers steadily declined, coinciding with CMS' implementation of a reduction in the payment amounts for these stays.
