Tip: Establish an objective
Healthcare Auditing Weekly, March 25, 2008
Planning an audit is much like creating a road map. Your first step should be to establish an objective.
You may pose the objective as a hypothesis, such as "Staff members are thoroughly trained on information system disaster recovery." You can also pose a research question, such as "Are staff members thoroughly trained on information system disaster recovery?" The purpose of the audit would be to find out whether the hypothesis is true or the question can be answered.
This tip is adapted from The Healthcare Auditor's Handbook. For more information about the book or to order your copy, visit HCMarketplace.
