Tip: Developing an audit plan

Planning an audit is similar to creating a road map. Here are steps to help you build an audit road map:
- Establish an objective
- Identify and select data sources
- Develop a sampling plan
- Design a data collection instrument
- Identify the resources needed for the audit process
- Develop the audit schedule
