On February 29, CMS issued a transmittal announcing changes to Medicare coverage and payment for audiological testing.

CMS encourages consistency in cost and charge reporting
On February 29, CMS issued a transmittal relating to CMS's support of efforts by industry groups to encourage hospitals to report costs and charges, particularly for supplies, in a way that is consistent with the way that charges are grouped in the Medicare Provider and Review (MedPAR) files.
Effective date: Cost reporting periods ending on or after September 30, 2007
Implementation date: March 31, 2008

CMS announces treatment of new and deleted laboratory CPT codes
On February 29, CMS issued a transmittal announcing the treatment of new and deleted 2008 laboratory CPT codes for purposes of the clinical laboratory improvement amendment edits.
