As discussed below, CMS has scheduled a hospital open door forum (ODF) conference call for this Thursday, January 31. This ODF call is important because it is the first since CMS issued the January 2008 OPPS update transmittal and the January 2008 OPPS specifications transmittal. I expect that CMS will also discuss the three ESA transmittals discussed in last week's Medicare Weekly Update.
All hospitals should make sure that they assign one or more representatives to participate in this call. There is no charge to participate and pre-registration is not required for participation by phone.
