Harris Methodist HEB Hospital (HEB), located in Bedford, Texas, agreed to pay the federal government and the state of Texas just over $1.9 million to resolve alleged violations of the False Claims Act, according to a Department of Justice (DOJ) press release.

The DOJ alleged that HEB submitted improper claims for payment to the Medicare and Texas Medicaid programs between March 2004, and September 2005, for orthopedic-related items and services.

As part of the settlement, HEB entered into a three-year Certification of Compliance Agreement with the OIG.
