Four defendants were charged in a multi-million dollar health fraud scheme for allegedly defrauding Medicare in West Palm Beach, FL.

Blanca Cordon, Edward Cordon, Leandro Nunez, and Moises Cordon Jr., owners of King Buda Medical Equipment and Kind Buda Medical Supplies, allegedly paid kickbacks to Medicare beneficiaries to use their Medicare information for billing purposes, and they also allegedly used physicians' UPINs without their approval. Through the companies, they billed Medicare for equipment such as wheelchairs and semi-electric hospital beds. The defendants falsely billed Medicare because much of this equipment was not needed or was not provided.

From 2001 through 2005, fraudulent claims totaling $3,400,000 were submitted to Medicare for reimbursement, and from 2004 through 2005, $392,000 was submitted in fraudulent claims.
