The OIG found the State agency claimed $7,311,860 for Medicaid reimbursement of TCM services that were unallowable.
The OIG recommended that:
- Minnesota refund the Federal Government the $3,759,338 for undocumented and unsupported TCM services
- Ensure that TCM services claimed under the Medicaid program are properly documented and meet Federal and State requirements
The OIG reviewed 118 claims in 100 sample beneficiary-months, and 7 claims were found to be unallowable because the services weren't supported by the case records or they weren't correctly documented.
