CMS has revised some of the key numbers used in calculating payments under the inpatient prospective payment system (IPPS). Hugh Aaron's Medicare Weekly Update revealed that the adjustments have been made following legislative changes, which included a requirement for CMS to reduce the MS-DRG "documentation and coding adjustment". The new 2008 rates are available on the CMS website.
