Do your patients need assistance with the prescription drug benefit? The Medicare Rights Center, a national nonprofit consumer group, is introducing its own hotline to help older adults and people with disabilities enroll in Medicare Part D. The free hotline will offer information about the new prescription drug benefit, according to the center's press release.
It will include tips for applying for additional funds to pay for the benefit, choosing an appropriate drug plan, and learning how the Medicare drug benefit works with state pharmaceutical assistance programs and other drug coverage. The professional hotline is available during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST Monday through Friday at 877/RxHELP0, which is 877/794-3570 in numeric form.
