The American Nurses Association (ANA) is helping to shine a light on the mental health issues that currently affects approximately 54 million Americans. The association is doing so by cosponsoring the National Depression Screening Day (NDSD)-a day the group urges healthcare providers use to give patients or others in the community free, anonymous exams for such disorders as depression, bipolar, general anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and postpartum depression. NDSD is set for October 7. This year is the 15th annual NDSD.
