Seventeen percent of Oregon residents are uninsured, says study

More than 600,000 Oregon residents are without health insurance according to a report from the Oregon Progress Board. This number, 17% of the population, surpasses the national average of uninsured residents. The rate of uninsured in the state rose from 14% in 2002 to 17% in 2004, says the report. The number of uninsured children also rose from 10% to 12%.
