The world's largest heart failure registry shows that Hispanic Americans admitted to the hospital for heart failure have higher rates of diabetes and higher cholesterol levels than African American and Caucasian patients.

Analysis of the acute decompensated heart failure national registry (ADHERE) showed that Hispanic American heart failure patients were 10% more likely than African American patients and 15% more likely than Caucasian patients to have diabetes.
