The state of Tennessee plans to restructure its Medicaid managed care program by adding limits on benefits and removing more than 320,000 adults who are not eligible for Medicaid. The plan will limit Medicaid-eligible adults to 20 inpatient hospital days each year. The Tennessee Hospital Association estimates the overhaul will cost the states' hospitals at least $650 million.
