CMS announces inpatient hospital deductible

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) recently announced the inpatient hospital deductible and the hospital and extended care services coinsurance for 2005. The inpatient hospital deductible went up from $876 in 2004 to $912 in 2005. The daily coinsurance amounts will be $228 for the 61st through 90th day of hospitalization in a benefit period, and $456 for lifetime reserve days. For more information visit the Federal Register .
