Patients not telling physicians they underuse meds because of cost

More than one-third of chronically ill patients who underuse medications because of high costs do not tell their physicians they're doing so, according to a recent study published by the Archives of Internal Medicine. Often patients cut back on prescription medications when the out-of-pocket cost is too high. Out of 660 chronically ill adults surveyed 35% never discussed their medication underuse with a healthcare professional.
