Pfizer and the state of Michigan are in talks about a deal that would provide the drug company's medication to the uninsured and help them manage chronic illnesses.
The state of Florida is in a similar program with Pfizer. In Florida, approximately 113,000 Medicaid beneficiaries enrolled in the program, and 14,000 meet with case managers, provided by Pfizer, to manage their chronic illnesses. According to the Detroit News, the state has seen a 12 % decrease in hospitalizations among the patients who meet with the case managers.
