Quick tip: Make your priorities a priority

Case management directors get pulled in many directions. It may seem like everyone has something they need them to do, whether it’s their bosses or state or federal authorities, and it can be difficult to focus on what you actually want to get done.
Return your focus to what’s important by clarifying your department’s purpose, says Stefani Daniels, RN, MSNA, CMAC, ACM, managing partner at Phoenix Medical Management, Inc. in Pompano Beach, Florida. You have to know what the intent is of your case management program. “Unless everybody is on the same page, you are going to have total chaos,” says Daniels.
