Knee and hip replacement readmissions dropping

Readmissions related to elective knee and hip replacements dropped between 2009 and 2013, according to the AARP.
These knee and hip procedures are a target for the Medicare Readmissions Reduction Program. While the number of procedures performed on older Americans climbed, the number of readmissions dropped 20%–23% among adults ages 50–84.
