Disparities in healthcare remain a problem

Despite changes to the healthcare system, numerous disparities in care exist between whites and non-whites in America, according to HealthLeaders Media.
For example, a 2013 report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that preventable hospital visits between 2001 and 2009 were higher for non-Hispanic blacks and Hispanics than for non-Hispanic white patients. It’s a problem that needs to be addressed if the industry wants to make a successful shift to population health.
