AHA urges action on short stays
Case Management Insider, March 10, 2015
The American Hospital Association (AHA) asked CMS to include potential payment solutions for short hospital stays in its proposed 2016 IPPS proposed rule.
The AHA also wants CMS to further delay enforcement of the 2-midnight rule and to repeal what it calls an “unlawful” payment reduction instituted in 2014. Along with its request, the AHA proposed potential short-stay policy solutions and also asked CMS to reconsider its Recovery Audit Contractor program.
