The April 7 issue of the Federal Register includes the long-awaited proposed rule that would implement provisions governing Medicare payments to providers of services and suppliers participating in accountable care organizations (ACO).
According to the proposed rule, providers of services and suppliers can continue to receive traditional Medicare fee-for-service payments under Parts A and B, and be eligible for additional payments if they meet specific quality and savings requirements.
The proposal is open for public comment. Submit comments electronically via regulations.gov; the comment period closes June 6.
