House Republicans have proposed a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act and plan a floor vote January 12.
The proposed bill does not offer a replacement for the current law. Instead, Republicans have drafted a resolution that would require House committees with responsibility in this area to introduce new healthcare legislation. These committees would be expected to pass bills that expand state control over Medicaid programs, foster job creation, and lower healthcare premiums. The bill does not give the committees a deadline for drafting legislation.
