Members of the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, United American Nurses, and Massachusetts Nurses Association have banned together to form National Nurses United.
The new group will be the largest registered nurses association and the largest professional association in the United States.
National Nurses United will hold its first convention on December 7-8 in Scotsdale, AZ. Prior to the meeting, members of the groups will gather independently to approve the pending merger.
National Nurse United plans strengthen nurses’ voice in the national healthcare debate and emphasize the protection and expansion of patient rights and professional practice. National Nurse United also plans to promote Senate bill, S. 1031, the National Nursing Shortage Reform and Patient Advocacy Act.
