The Nebraska Hospital Association has launched a new Web site called “Care Compare” that will help patients compare hospital charges by condition, along with each hospital’s number of discharges, average length of stay, and the average age of patients.
Patients that have consumer-directed health plans that charge the patient according to the cost of the procedure will find this Web site most helpful, but the Web site will help consumers, policy makers, and the public compare the cost and quality of hospital care.
The site will also have links to other Web sites that compare hospitals, such as CMS and The Joint Commission.
