A quarter of Hispanics surveyed last year by the Rockefeller Foundation reported they were worried about losing insurance coverage, in contrast to only 13% of whites, according to a story in The Dallas Morning News. The survey was conducted by the Rockefeller Foundation, a private foundation that helps poor and vulnerable populations, and the results were analyzed by the Economic Policy Institute, a Washington D.C.- based think tank.
The survey also found 26% of Hispanics said they had not seen a doctor when sick because of the cost, and 25% reported taking money from savings accounts to cover healthcare costs, compared to only 17% of white respondents.
